CommercialLink.ca is a business financing brokerage operating in Canada, helping small business owners access lines of credit, equipment financing, commercial mortgages, and other capital solutions. We are based in British Columbia, Canada.

This Privacy Policy applies to information collected through our website (commerciallink.ca), our consultation intake form, email communications, and WhatsApp conversations related to our financing services.

We do not use tracking cookies for advertising purposes. We do not sell your data to any third party.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To assess your eligibility for business financing products
• To match your profile with appropriate A or B lenders in our network
• To submit financing applications to lenders on your behalf (with your consent)
• To communicate with you about your financing inquiry via phone, email, or WhatsApp
• To send you relevant financing-related updates or new product offerings (you may opt out at any time)
• To comply with legal and regulatory obligations
• To improve our website and services

We will never use your information for any purpose not listed above without your explicit consent.

4. Who We Share Your Information With

We share your personal and business information only as necessary to arrange financing on your behalf:

• Lender partners — A lenders (banks, credit unions) and B lenders (alternative lenders such as Merchant Growth, Journey Capital, OnDeck Canada) to whom we submit your financing application. We share only what each lender requires.
• Credit bureaus — lenders may access Equifax or TransUnion business and personal credit reports as part of their underwriting process.
• Service providers — electronic signature platform (OpenSign) for document signing; email forwarding (Cloudflare); document storage (Google Drive). These providers are bound by their own privacy policies and do not have access to your financial information.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for marketing or any other purpose.

5. Legal Basis — PIPEDA and BC PIPA

CommercialLink.ca complies with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) — Canada's federal private sector privacy law — and the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) of British Columbia.

We collect personal information only with your consent, which is provided when you submit our consultation form, communicate with us via WhatsApp or email, or sign our fee agreement. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us — however, withdrawal of consent may limit our ability to arrange financing on your behalf.

6. How We Protect Your Information

• All website traffic is encrypted via SSL/TLS (HTTPS) through Cloudflare
• Financial documents shared with us are stored in encrypted cloud storage
• We do not store credit card numbers or banking login credentials
• Access to your information is limited to authorised personnel only
• Electronic signature documents are stored with audit trails through OpenSign

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we take all reasonable precautions, we cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted to us electronically.

7. How Long We Keep Your Information

• Active clients — we retain your information for the duration of our engagement and for 7 years after the financing is completed, as required for tax and legal record-keeping purposes.
• Inquiries that did not proceed — we retain basic contact information for 12 months, after which it is deleted or anonymised.
• Signed fee agreements — retained for 7 years from the date of signing.
• You may request deletion of your information at any time (subject to our legal retention obligations).

8. Your Rights

Under PIPEDA and BC PIPA, you have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
• Correction — request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information
• Deletion — request that we delete your information (subject to legal retention requirements)
• Withdrawal of consent — withdraw your consent to our use of your information at any time
• Complaint — file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC) at priv.gc.ca or the BC Information and Privacy Commissioner at oipc.bc.ca

• Processing of unsubscribe requests within 10 business days

You may unsubscribe at any time by replying "UNSUBSCRIBE" to any email or by contacting us directly.
